Building a Solution

SoldOutt was created to solve the pains that event organizers face beyond ticket sales, with the fundamental goal of helping organizers reach ‘Sold Out’ events. When our team cold-called attendees in the early stages of our conceptualization, they found gaps that ticketing platforms were not addressing. The chief amongst these was a lack of great UX designed to driving incremental sales.

Our MVP was ready and launched in 2 weeks of coding and development, and in the days following that, we sold more tickets than the organizers had before. A few months later, we cracked the 90% lead to conversion ratio, arguably the highest in the market.

After dozens of enhancements and feature upgrades, SoldOutt is now the preferred sales platform used by leading event businesses in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Sales Hacking

Building the platform was only the first step. Helping organizers with our sales hacking strategies came next. Since our first event in September 2016, we've sold millions of dollars in tickets for over 1000s small and big events, from workshops with 10 attendees to selling out for the 10,000+ people Techsauce Global Summit 2018 and 2019.

Our work also resulted in UX Thailand Conference 2019 selling out one month before the event date, and Techsauce Global Summit 2019 hitting 2.5x above the targeted tickets breaking theirs (and ours) all-time sales record! Hacking ticket sales then became what were known for among the event organizers around South East Asia.

In fact, our name ‘SoldOutt’ was bestowed upon us by one of our clients after our strategy helped them sell more tickets than they ever thought possible!

The Pandemic, and beyond

During the COVID-19 crisis and lockdown, we pioneered a virtual event solution that has so far hosted over 200 events in Thailand and SEA, and has enabled dozens of organizers overcome Covid restrictions by moving to fully online or hybrid events. Alongside, we developed and pitched a Virtual Festival idea at the EUvsVirus Global Hackathon organized by European Union which we were selected as the finalists - the biggest global recognition we've received so far!

Beyond just hosting events, our platform allows event organizers to monetize their events with interactive and real-time conversion tools including instant payment for donation, tipping or purchase of products or services. We've also introduced food delivery - something that's never been done before - into a virtual event.

Today, we have achieved unheard of attendee satisfaction scores for our events, as high as 98.5% - but for us, it’s still only the beginning!

The Team

The team has a combined 38+ years of experience in the event and tech industries. Some of us have worked at ThaiTicketMajor, the leading ticketing company in Thailand for many years in various areas, from marketing to operations. The CEO & Lead Hustler - Dave has been fundamental in developing new technologies for ThaiTicketMajor and Major Cineplex including the first mobile ticketing platform in Thailand with seat maps and selection back in 2011.

The startup is run by ShakeSphere, a disruptive tech consultancy and builder – the team behind challenging projects like FoodHunt - Central Group’s food delivery business and Power Buy’s e-commerce infrastructure — a leading Electronics store in Thailand. ShakeSphere has also helped create new startups in Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia, one of which recently received a funding of 9 million USD.
